Mojo 93

mojo93I’ve been swamped for the last several days but decided to take an hour to stamp a card for the Mojo sketch.

This card is done in with some of the new “in colors” Soft Suede, Dusty Durango, and Crushed Curry.  The card base uses the textured Soft Suede.  The image is from the new level 3 hostess set Kind & Caring Thoughts.  I used the new “in color” markers in Dusty Durango and Soft Suede to color the image and stamped it on Whisper White.  I did take SU’s handy dandy sanding block to the image so that it would take the ink better.  It made a much cleaner image after I did that.

I used the background stamp EnFrancais inked with Soft Suede and stamped off once on the Crushed Curry.  I rounded the corners with the corner rounder punch.  The scallop on the Dusty Durango was done with the Scallop Edge punch.  The ribbon is some retired Taupe grosgrain.

Stamps:  Kind & Caring Thoughts, EnFrancais
Ink: Soft Suede
Cardstock: textured Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Whisper White
Accessories: Dusty Durango and Soft Suede markers, buttons, natural hemp, glue dots, mat pack, corner rounder punch, dimensionals, Taupe grosgrain ribbon, Antique brass brads, Nestabilities (sentiment), paper piercing tool, Scallop Edge punch,

Thanks for stopping by! Come again soon!

It’s Monday…Time for a Mojo!

mojo91I have a busy week ahead so I want to start with a sketch challenge.  I doubt I’ll get another chance to post this week.

The Mojo sketch challenge is found here.

This is a pretty bold card for me.  I’m not much of a red & black kind of person but once in awhile it’s good to get out of the rut!  And I wanted to use some of the Rockability DSP that’s retiring soon.  I love the black on black stripe!

This is a Real Red card base with layers of Basic Black, Old Olive DSP, and Rockability.  The image is from the retiring stamp set Heartfelt Thanks.  It’s a 2-step stamp set.  I used the Real Red and Old Olive Markers on the flowers then inked the outline stamp with Bravo Burgundy.  The Basic Black scallop was made with the Scallop Edge Punch.  There are 2 black eyelets at the top and one at the bottom on the flower.

The sentiment is from the new Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  I’m going to get TONS of use from that set!  I love it!  I stamped the sentiment with Basic Black then punched it out with the Word Window Punch.  Then I put it back in the punch and shortened it on one side.  The flower is from the Trio Flowers punch.  The ribbon is non-S.U.  The piercings on the Real Red was an afterthought and I already had the dimensionals behind it so I used the Mat Pack and Paper Piercing tool to mark dots, then used the Basic Black marker to make the dots black.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day!
