Let There Be Peace…

The last challenge for September is underway at Our Creative Corner and this week it’s a monochromatic color challenge! Dana has outdone herself this month with wonderful challenges. I’ve enjoyed each of them! Make your way over to the OCC and check it out!   Actually, funny thing happened on the way to this challenge…originally it was going to be a sketch challenge so that’s what I did.  It wasn’t until I was posting my card that I realized it had been changed to a monochromatic color challenge.  Good thing my card is pretty monochromatic!  Here’s my take:

Here’s a close up on the layers:

Here’s what I used:
Stamps:  Christmas Treasurers (JustRite),
Paper:  Bordering Blue, Basic Black,
Ink:  Black Craft
Accessories:  Black Embossing Powder, Rhinestone & Silver Pearls (Recollections),  Textile Textures Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug), Wide Black Organdy ribbon, Silver Elastic Cord, Lg Silver Brad, Mat Pack/Paper Piercer, Ticket Punch, Nestabilities,

Be sure and check out the rest of the OCC design team creations!  We invite you to take the challenge and play along.  There is no time limit on our  challenges.  Feel  free to participate whenever you are able. To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave a comment linking to your project so we can check it out. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC

Wow, just gorgeous. Simple, yet striking. I really love the blue and black together. That ribbon is to die for and I like the way you included the silver cord. How funny that without intending to, you made a monochromatic card that fit the challenge perfectly. I made a mistake on which challenge to follow for a DT a couple of months ago, submitted it and they published it without even telling me I made the wrong card. Glad your outcome was happier than mine – LOL!!
