It's All About Stamping

Halloween Subway Art

Sharing something a little different today.  I was looking for Subway Art that I liked for Halloween and couldn’t find one so I made one.  Feel free to use it if you’d like.

Witch Way?

My mom needed a card yesterday.  She requested a Halloween card with a witch on it.  The only one I had was this small 3″x3″ card that I made many years ago (obviously my need for Halloween cards isn’t that great!).092009

This is the only witch stamp I have and she is pretty small from a very old set called “Tag Time”.  Mom needed the card to be bigger than 3×3.  A neighbor helped her out last weekend when she really needed some help and she wanted to say thanks for the help when she didn’t know “witch” way to turn.  Clever mom!   So I told her I would work on it and have it in the mail by the time the mail went.  Here is what I came up with…       (I can’t tell you how many times I changed out colors and pieces on this card!  Took me forever!)

Here’s a closer and side view of the iridescent ice embossing powder.

Halloween Frights…Not!

occ-002 copyWe have a wonderful challenge hostess this month over at Our Creative Corner, Lori Rider.  She has really challenged me this month and this week was no different.  The challenge was to make a card/project inspired by your favorite scary (or Halloween-themed) book or movie.

The only “halloween”ish stamp set I own is Carved & Candlelit and I have the witch from Tag Time.  Both of which are long retired.  I also don’t and haven’t ever seen Horror flicks with the exception of Legend of Sleppy Hollow (Disney version),  Harry OCC102309 2Potter, and Twilight (if you can call those scary movies).  So I went to My Digital Studio and created a Halloween card…not too frightening though!   I also used the Verve VSOCT09E sketch!

For all of you who don’t think a digital card counts…here’s the real version.  I had to print out the designer paper downloaded from MDS and the Stamps from Eat, Drink & Be Scary.  I also changed a couple of the colors…

So…Here’s What I Used for the “real” card:
Stamps: All Holidays, Eat Drink & Be Scary digital stamps
Paper: Cast-A-Spell DSP (digital), Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Perfect Plum, Old Olive, plain white printer paper
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Black Button, White Embossing Powder, Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, Black brads, Mat Pack/Paper Piercer, Dimensionals, embroidery thread,

Be sure and check out the rest of the OCC design team creations! We invite you to take the challenge and play along. There is no time limit on our challenges. Feel free to participate whenever you are able. To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave a comment linking to your project so we can check it out. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC

Carved & Candlelit

I wanted to participate in Julie’s fabulous Verve Sketches this week and have only finished 3 of the 5.  One I posted a couple days ago along with her new free digital stamp Winter Mittens, and one I will post tomorrow for the OCC Challenge.  This is the 4th in the series of 5 sketch challenge.  I love her sketches.  They’re so clean and easy to use over and over.  I really don’t have any halloween stamps to speak of so I pulled out this retired one, Carved & Candlelit.

Here’s What I Used:
Stamps: Carved & Candlelit, Teeny Tiny Wishes,
Paper: (Digital) Cast-A-Spell, Basic Black, Perfect Plum, Old Olive,
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Basic Black
Accessories: Crop-a-dile, Jumbo Antique Brass Eyelets, Black Gingham ribbon, Dimensionals
