I’m so glad you stopped by!

Our Creative Corner challenge this week was quite a challenge for me again!  I know, I say that almost every week….I didn’t say it last week…!!  I had NOOOOOO idea what to do with the Postcard Sketch Challenge!  This is what came to my mind (the only thing that came to my mind!) and so it’s what I went with!!  Whew!!  Glad that’s over!!  I have a craft show that is occupying what little space I have in my head and will be gone all day.  I’m excited to see what you all came up with when I get back!

Luminary

I made this luminary yesterday using Beate’s tutorial found here.   It was fun, quick,  and easy to make.  I did one thing different on the construction.  Instead of using the Nestabilities, I used my WIDE OVAL PUNCH.  I folded 2 sides over on each other and then punched.  Then I did the same thing again with the remaining 2 sides.

Here it is again with the lights out and a votive inside (I put the votive in a glass container and then put it in the luminary).

OCC/SC252

2009 October 30

HAPPY HALLOWEEN to everyone and welcome to my stamping blog!  Today is the last October challenge at Our Creative Corner.  Lori has done a fabulous job at CHALLENGING us!!  Today’s challenge was again quite the challenge for me.  We were to use something vintage or vintage inspired.  I found that Lovely As a Tree is as “vintage” as I get!  Hasn’t this stamp set been around for like 100 years?  (heehee!)  That’s vintage, right?

SC252

Here’s a side view to see all the sparkle!

Paper:  Real Red, Garden Green, Real Red DSP, Whisper White
Ink:  Stazon Jet Black,  Adirondack Pitch Black,

Halloween Frights…Not!

2009 October 23

occ-002 copyWe have a wonderful challenge hostess this month over at Our Creative Corner, Lori Rider.  She has really challenged me this month and this week was no different.  The challenge was to make a card/project inspired by your favorite scary (or Halloween-themed) book or movie.

The only “halloween”ish stamp set I own is Carved & Candlelit and I have the witch from Tag Time.  Both of which are long retired.  I also don’t and haven’t ever seen Horror flicks with the exception of Legend of Sleppy Hollow (Disney version),  Harry OCC102309 2Potter, and Twilight (if you can call those scary movies).  So I went to My Digital Studio and created a Halloween card…not too frightening though!   I also used the Verve VSOCT09E sketch!

For all of you who don’t think a digital card counts…here’s the real version.  I had to print out the designer paper downloaded from MDS and the Stamps from Eat, Drink & Be Scary.  I also changed a couple of the colors…

So…Here’s What I Used for the “real” card:
Stamps: All Holidays, Eat Drink & Be Scary digital stamps
Paper: Cast-A-Spell DSP (digital), Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Perfect Plum, Old Olive, plain white printer paper
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Black Button, White Embossing Powder, Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, Black brads, Mat Pack/Paper Piercer, Dimensionals, embroidery thread,
